ASHLEY WALKER BIOGRAPHY

I'm a Minneapolis-based multimedia journalist with a strong voice for the underserved and a passion to evoke truth and emotion. I specialize in social justice issues and lifestyle features. I received a bachelor's degree in Multimedia Journalism from Minnesota State University Moorhead, where I honed my writing, production, and visual storytelling skills. I won Best Feature in 2024 at the National Association of State Radio Networks, was nominated for the College Upper Midwest Emmys for a visual story on feminist protests at the Capitol, and was accepted into Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communications Association. I have diverse and unique job experiences as a digital news producer at KTTC NBC 10 and a program director at KMSC, where I wrote, edited, and published online content, and managed the radio station's programming and operations. Currently, I write, report, anchor, and create digital reporting content for Minnesota News Network, a state-wide radio network, where I report politics at the Capitol, spread my voice stories from Minnesota's top to bottom, and produce daily and weekly radio segments. I am a fast learner, a hard worker, and a jack of all trades in the journalism field, which I established through my individual reporting and social media content.
